Data Governance Lead, Chief Data officer, Head of Data Management (m/f) (Contract)

Location: Remote work (CET +/- 2hr) - some international travel Country: France Rate: TBD

Key Skills:

Senior business lead with over 10 years experience

Experience in the definition and implementation of Data Governance for a global organisation (essential)

Comfortable working with presidents and CEOs of business units

Able to demonstrate strategic leadership in global organisations

Adept at gaining high-level sponsorship for key programs and projects

Confident in oversight and driving a strategic vision

Excellent communication and influencing skills

Fluent in English, French very nice to have

Role Brief:

Are you a Data Governance Lead, Chief Data officer or Head of Data Management with experience in creating and driving global strategy?

We need you to define and execute Data Governance vision and strategy in line with strategic company objectives and its operating needs around regulations, IT and other areas.

You will have overall responsibility for effective Data Governance across the organisation and engage with Senior Management to continuously promote its value. You will shape the organizations Data Governance ambitions and priorities and act as a catalyst for the achievement of the business vision & strategy.

Key Tasks:

  • Create the data governance roadmap
  • Select and prioritise data initiatives
  • Create and manage executive buy-in, both ideologically and budget
  • Engage with geographic and business unit top management to gain support
  • Maintain visibility on the current state of initiatives across the organization
  • Set up the Data Governance organization and set up ad hoc working groups and task forces
  • Define, approve, publish and enforce policies, standards processes and architectural guidelines for data governance, data quality and data security
