Project Support Officer (Contract)

Location: Belfast Country: UK Rate: £150 - 170 per day
 
Project Support Officer required to work with a government department. This is a 12-month contract, paying £170 per day, inside IR35, hybrid working (3 days per week onsite in Belfast)

Summary
As a Project Support Officer, you will support the SEO to develop and deliver robust change management. The "Go Live" workstream is being mobilised to manage the transition to the permanent facilities at all points of entry and supporting other workstreams leads to deliver fully operational inspection facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and deliver activities to provide fully operational SPS Facilities
  • Working in partnership with key user groups (VSAHG/Plant Health, Local Councils) define and deliver a Go live plan for those aspects of port readiness.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in the end-to-end trader journey.
  • Support stakeholder engagement through leading on and chairing specific meetings or working groups with users.
  • Supporting the key user groups through the transition process.
  • Development of transition and customer handover plans through engagement with wider project team and stakeholders.
  • Deliver advice on changing processes through delivering awareness sessions and preparing relevant written briefing updates for staff and site users.
  • Work with business areas to coordinate and develop relevant training plans for sites users.

Experience Required:
  • Project Management/Change Management experience.
  • Experience supporting colleagues and other stakeholders through a significant change/transition in processes or goals.
  • Experience of building positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally, including senior management.
  • Ability to lead, develop, motivate, and manage staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written and have experience in preparing project papers/documentation and delivering presentations.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and provide a positive contribution to the overall success of the team.
  • A formal change management certification would be beneficial but not essential.
  • One or more related qualifications, eg PRINCE2 is preferred but not essential.
