Java Developer FX

Location: London (Hybrid, 2 days per week)

emagine is a leading professional services consultancy and solutions firm, dedicated to delivering top-notch business and technology services. We are currently seeking a skilled Java Developer FX to join our dynamic team focused on forward pricing and enhancing FX trading infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate closely with eRisk Quant Traders and Cash FX Forward/NDF traders to gather requirements and develop forward pricing solutions.

• Work with technical leads and other development teams within the GFX program to enhance systems and support trading requirements.

• Develop detailed technical designs and implement best-of-breed solutions based on agreed designs.

• Conduct thorough testing of implemented solutions prior to User Acceptance Testing.

• Assist with deployment of components to development and test environments as needed.

• Participate in intra-day and overnight support rotations when required.

Main Duties:

• Engage directly with traders and quants to understand and address their needs.

• Collaborate with internal and external teams to design and implement technical solutions.

• Implement industry-standard development patterns and methodologies, including continuous integration and automated testing.

• Ensure thorough testing of solutions prior to deployment.

• Provide support during testing and deployment phases as required.

Skillset:

• Essential: Strong Java Server Side development experience, including knowledge of multi-threaded development.

• Essential: Demonstrated experience developing global, distributed systems in a 24/5.5 trading environment.

• Advantageous: Experience building FX or eRates pricing systems for eCommerce.

• Advantageous: Knowledge of KDB/Q.

• Advantageous: Familiarity with rates and bonds RFQ trading via ION MarketView Java API.

Business Knowledge:

• Essential: Experience in trading desk operations within a large, multi-site Investment Bank with a significant eCommerce offering.

• Essential: Familiarity with Foreign Exchange in a high-volume, low-latency environment.

• Essential: Experience working on enterprise systems and agile delivery of quant and business requirements.

• Essential: Understanding of Spot FX and Forward FX market conventions.
