Vulnerability Analyst (Contract)

Location: Dunstable Country: UK Rate: £500 per day
 

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vulnerability Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cybersecurity, with a focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating vulnerabilities across diverse systems and networks. As a Vulnerability Analyst, you will play a critical role in proactively identifying potential security weaknesses and providing actionable insights to enhance our clients' security posture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify security weaknesses in systems, networks, and applications.
  • Analyse vulnerability scan results and prioritise remediation efforts based on risk and potential impact.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement effective remediation strategies and security best practices.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends to continually enhance our vulnerability management processes.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to internal teams and clients on vulnerability management best practices and mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare and deliver clear and concise reports detailing identified vulnerabilities, risk assessments, and recommended remediation actions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or similar certifications preferred.
  • Proven experience in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security risk assessments.
  • Strong understanding of common security vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and mitigation techniques.
  • Proficiency in using vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus, Qualys, or OpenVAS.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

4 days Remote, one day a week onsite in Bedfordshire, outside IR35
