Java Developer - Back End AWS (Contract)

Junior Java Developer - Back End AWS

UK - Remote*

SJIT are hiring 6x Software engineers for a 6 month remote project, working with a leading Global Big Four client. The project is part of a large AWS migration and experience with AWS and Infrastructure automation is critical. The work includes migration to JDK17, automation of AWS infrastructure creation, removing internal and external dependencies to non-supported services, and demonstrating success by spinning up the services in the new region and passing integration and non-regression tests. The migration of data is not in scope

The role will need a mix of experience, the following a key to being successful:

  • Java Backend Development
  • Service infrastructure migration
  • Infrastructure Automation (CloudFormation, CDK)
  • Amazon Web Services
  • Networking
  • DevOps/IaC Automation

You'll be working on a JDK upgrade, service migration and IaC Automation, working within a team, updating on progress, blockers etc.

*The role will require you to travel to Berlin for onboarding, so you must be able to commit to this. After the onboarding, the role will be fully remote, based in the UK.
