Data Governance Manager - Cloudera & Collibra (Contract)

Location: Brussels + 3 days per week Remote Country: Belgium Rate: 500 Euros per day
 

My client is looking for an experienced Data Governance Manager with Cloudera and Collibra experience.

Job Overview

As a Data Governance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management, quality, and security of our organization's data assets.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Cloudera technologies into our existing data catalog, which is implemented using Collibra.

Your expertise in data governance, Metadata management, and Cloudera stack administration will be essential for success in this role.

Required Responsibilities:

Data Catalog Integration: Lead the integration efforts of Cloudera components (such as Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Kafka) into the Collibra data catalog. Ensure seamless connectivity between Cloudera and Collibra, allowing users to discover, understand, and trust data assets across the organization.

Metadata Management: Define and enforce metadata standards, taxonomies, and data lineage within the data catalog. Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to capture and document metadata for Cloudera-based datasets.

Data Governance Framework: Establish and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and best practices. Implement data quality rules, data lineage tracking, and data access controls. Monitor compliance with data governance guidelines and address any issues promptly.

Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with governance principles. Facilitate communication between Collibra and Cloudera administrators to resolve integration challenges.

Training and Support: Provide training sessions for end-users on Collibra and Cloudera stack usage. Offer ongoing support to data stewards, data owners, and other stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to data governance and Cloudera. Propose enhancements to the data governance framework and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Experience:

Proven experience in data governance, metadata management, and Cloudera stack administration.

Familiarity with Collibra or similar data catalog tools.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical teams.

Certifications in data governance (eg, Collibra Certified Ranger, CDMP) are a plus.

Technical skills Required:

  • Strong understanding of Cloudera components, including Hadoop, Hive, Impala, and Kafka.
  • Ability to integrate Cloudera technologies seamlessly into the Collibra data catalog
  • Understanding of Collibra workflows, data governance workflows, and data lineage tracking.
  • Usage and certification in Collibra
  • Good understanding of the main business processes and IT systems involved along the data life cycle.

Location:

Hybrid working 3 days per week remote work possible with 2 days per week required onsite in Brussels Belgium, ideally candidates will already be based in Belgium.
